Cleveland District poker tournament raised more than $2,300 for W.A.G.S. 4 Kids
A Northeast Ohio charity was the real winner in an October charity poker tournament hosted by a Sheet Metal Local 33 District.
Held on Oct. 20, the Cleveland District charity poker tournament raised $2,360 to benefit Local 33’s 2018 charity, Working Animals Giving Service for Kids (W.A.G.S. 4 Kids).
The Cleveland District thanks the 40 members who participated in this fun event, which raised money to help provide disabled children with mobility service dogs and autism service animals.
In addition to poker, the event also featured a basket raffle.
With the money raised through this event, SMW Local 33 was able to exceed their yearlong goal to raise $40,000 for W.A.G.S. 4 Kids.
Members who were not able to participate in the tournament but who want to make a contribution to this wonderful organization are urged to call the SMW Local 33 main office at 800-527-3834 and speak with any of the secretaries, who can send a receipt. Donations can also be dropped off with a Business Agent. All checks should be made out to W.A.G.S. 4 Kids.
