Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #33’s mission is to secure and maintain desirable working conditions for our members by providing their employers with properly trained and prepared sheet metal workers – enabling our members to provide for themselves and their families by earning a fair day’s pay in exchange for a fair day’s work.
Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #33 represents over 4,500 skilled craftsmen throughout most of Ohio and West Virginia.
SMW Local #33 is an amalgamated local union of seven previously independent unions formed January 1, 1988. The five original unions were located in the Ohio cities of Toledo, Vermilion, Cleveland, Youngstown and Akron. On January 1, 1989, two more locals were added: Parkersburg and Charleston, West Virginia.
Today, SMW Local #33 services 9 major building trades counties, over 30 different major production agreements and several other specialty agreements that service our members and the sheet metal industry.
